After we agreed yesterday that both Amazon and Apple have a major security flaw in their procedures both closed those holes for at least today. Wired found that Amazon would not allow to add a creditcard anymore by telephone. This policy change has not been officially communicated but anonymous employees confirm the changes were implemented for security reasons. Apple did the same thing. They do not allow password resets over the phone today. This also confirmed by anonymous employees. Both companies are take security measures to prevent hacks like these in the future. Let’s see when and how, but for now, good job! Although it is a shame that it takes a well-known reporter to identify this.
