Apple Has Finally Added Two-step Verification, in Some Countries

After Google, Facebook, Dropbox and others, Apple has finally enabled two-step verification. But don’t get excited, like I was shortly, when you don’t live in one of the following countries:

Initially, two-step verification is being offered in the U.S., UK, Australia, Ireland, and New Zealand. Additional countries will be added over time. When your country is added, two-step verification will automatically appear in the Password and Security section of Manage My Apple ID when you sign in to My Apple ID.

I hope Apple will add other countries as soon as possible, because we don’t want another Mat Honan hack. That is to say, I presume this adds to the security measures preventing hacks like that.

Next one I am waiting for to implement two-step authentication is Twitter and Amazon, although it would break 1-click buying of course.
