With Feedly switching the back-end from Google Reader to their own cloud, somehow this link popped up in my saved for later tab. I thought it was rather appropriate since I post so much about this SDN-thing to link my readers to a very readable explanation.
The following analogy also struck me, which explains the central versus decentral controller discussion very well:
Done improperly, this would be akin to letting every driver in Cleveland have independent control of all the traffic lights in town. Chaos. This is why there’s a gap between theorizing about SDN and actually implementing it.
An old post that still shines some light on today’s discussions.
